The house is close to the Irish Sea and beach (3/4 mile) with a lengthy beach and surrounded by rich pastureland with spectacular views of the Lakeland Fells and hills.
Eskmeals House is near to Ravenglass and the wonderful Eskdale Valley, Wastwater (England`s deepest lake) and Scafell, (highest mountain in England).
The house is ideal for celebrations, business functions, groups or families wishing to enjoy the space and ambience of a large gentlemans residence.
The house is full of character with large rooms containing working Georgian fireplaces and stoves for cosy evenings.

Local Pubs
Ratty Arms, Ravenglass, converted railway station serving good food with an extensive menu. Children welcome. There are also several other good pubs in the Eskdale Valley.
There are two excellent butchers, Woodalls at Waberthwaite, sausage and hams by appointment to the queen. Bewleys butchers, Bootle.
Mini market at Bootle and the nearest supermarkets at Millom, Egremont & Whitehaven.
DIRECTIONS
Travelling from the South leave the M6 at J36, onto the A590, A5092 and the A595 until you reach the village of Bootle. When you reach Bootle turn left just before the village shop on your right and follow this road (approx` 2 miles) to the railway crossing at Bootle Station, bear right after the crossing and head down this road until you reach the sea, the road bears round to the right here. Drive along this coastal road, past the main entrance to the MOD site, and then turn right at the White `Public Footpath Sign`. If you miss the right turn you will eventually reach the estuary (approx` ¾ mile). When you turn right you will see a black and yellow painted bridge infront of you. Drive under the bridge and through the woodland and Eskmeals House is on the left (approx` 200 yards past railway bridge).
