For those of you with a Sat-Nav/GPS system that is compatible with the .GPX format
(most models), we have a handy .GPX file for you to download onto your GPS. This
`Route` was recorded by us and will guide you from the M6, Junction 36 to Eskmeals
House.
From the M6, leave at Junction 36, the A590 signed Barrow-in-Furness. We are on average
around 60 minutes driving time from this junction. Follow the dual carriageway and
take the first turn-off, the A590. Follow A590 signed Barrow/Ulverston until you
see signs for the A5092 to Barrow, Workington, a right turn across a stretch of dual
carriageway, ...take this road, stay on it, you'll see the Barrow sign to the left,
the A595, dont turn off STAY on the main road which becomes the A595, head for Broughton-in
Furness which you bypass, you'll see Foxfield marked, keep going....a couple of miles
further you will see a L turn for Millom, STAY ON the A595. Eventually you will arrive
at a T-juction. Turn right and continue for approximately 5 miles until you reach
Bootle. Take the first left turn, sign posted Eskmeals (Bootle Stores is just to
your right). Stay on this road for about 3 miles until you reach the coast. Turn
right here and continue along the coast road for around a mile. You will eventually
see a white painted `Footpath` sign and a woods to your right. Drive down this short
track and under the bridge. Eskmeals House is approximately 50 yards on your left.
