The Owl Centre is based in the beautiful wooded gardens of historic Muncaster Castle. Every year we welcome over 70,000 visitors to one of the most comprehensive owl collections in existence. You will see over 200 owls from over 50 different species, ranging from the biggest owl in the world, to the tiny Pygmy and Scops Owls.

Eskdale has a plethora of paths, lanes and bridle ways to explore, the valley is home to one of the most picturesque rivers in Britain, with easy paths. For the experienced walker and climber the options are almost endless, with access to some of the best mountains in England.
